TO BE, OR NOT TO BE

The greatest challenge of my life has been staying present in the moment. Not looking backward, not looking forward, but just resting in this place, at this time, seeing what's around me, sensing what's within me.

There are several things I've know FOREVER would change my life - a daily meditation practice, doing three sets of breathing exercises, getting to bed & getting up early. I've written & written & written pledges to do those things on a regular basis, then ignored the better angels of my self knowledge. For many years, there was a MAJOR incentive to ignore those three daily rituals. Had I ever ever ever focused on what was actually happening within a present moment, the life that I'd constructed would have fallen apart.

Now, things are flipped. It's absolutely, positively ESSENTIAL that I get past all my old barriers & distractions. I need to get & stay focused on what's in each present moment, what's actually happening around & within me, if I'm ever ever ever going to build the life that's already around me.

To be, or not to be... There are two "be" commandments in the Bible ~ "Be still..." and "Be not afraid." Both are rooted in meditation, in being so much in the present moment that all extraneous things drop away. To be, or not to be...
