Power of PLAY

The three most successful people I know ~ Dave, Candy, Emily Jane ~ each brings a sense of focus & a goal to their play as well as a strong sense of play to their work.  They are serious about what they do, yet seem to always have some blissful sense of merriment in all that they attempt.

Which is not to say that everything they do is full of present-moment mirth.  But it does seem that even their toughest trials have in them some gleeful promise of even greater future happiness.

And they seem to just know that mastery is part of the fun process, and getting to mastery can mean a lot of stress & arduous work, unglamorous effort & frustrating attempts at nailing down process.  Maybe one quality the three of them share is a strong imagination, allowing them to slog through the difficult bits because they always hold an image in their mind's eye of ultimate outcome.  Perhaps the great Not Yet powers  present moment efforts that seem herculean to me, yet which they convey as enjoyable, even refreshing.

Infusing my present-moment efforts with a sense of play, of enjoyment, of mirth because I know where they are taking me - that's what I want to let inspire me as I step further & further down new, beguiling paths.  Bring a sense of focus & goal to my play and a sense of play to my deep work.
